AI Business Story of the Week

Amara Lopez: $1M ARR, Built with Feedback Loops Before “Full” Product

  • Product: LoopIQ: an AI system that helps creators improve their content via iterative feedback. Think: you upload video/text drafts and LoopIQ gives structured feedback + suggestions, then lets you refine.

  • How she built it:
    • Started with a simple Discord community. Amara asked creators to submit rough drafts; she manually gave feedback.
    • Collected that qualitative feedback, built a minimal AI model that automated parts of the feedback.
    • Used Stripe to charge early users $29/month. Even at that price, got 300 users in month 2.
    • Reinvested early revenue into improving the AI, UX, and automating moderation/Ops.

  • What you can learn:
    • You don’t need a fully polished product to get paying users — solve part of a problem well.
    • Use existing communities (Discord, Slack) to test ideas before building.
    • Feedback loops are powerful: let real users guide what features matter.
    • Price early. Even low pricing gives valuable signals (churn, willingness to pay).
