π° This Week's Opportunity
Meta's AI agent is about to start shopping on people's behalf. Most small merchants have no idea whether it can actually buy from their store.
Meta holds Connect 2026 today and tomorrow, September 23-24. Early signals point to a deeper push for Muse, Meta's AI agent, into shopping and transactions, not just conversation.
Morgan Stanley analysts flagged the real risk for merchants. Platforms with clean, machine-readable product data have a real advantage. Businesses running an unstructured or custom-built website may simply be invisible to a shopping agent.
Why it matters now
This is a narrower, more technical problem than general AI visibility. It's not "does AI know about you." It's "can an AI agent actually read your price, your stock status, and your product details well enough to complete a purchase."
Most small e-commerce sites were never built with a non-human buyer in mind. Nobody has checked whether they work for one.
Who this is for
Web developers who can audit and fix a store's structured data
E-commerce consultants running stores for local retailers
Freelancers wanting a technical, higher-value niche than general AI visibility work
Most founders are one system away from turning LinkedIn into their best sales channel.
Engagement is easy to mistake for pipeline. On Sep 30, watch how a founder turns LinkedIn content into real outreach. Live. You'll walk away with a repeatable system: what to post, who to reach out to, and how to sequence it.
Eligible startups also get the LinkedIn-to-Leads Toolkit: ad credits, Apollo, Captions, and HubSpot's Prospecting Agent.
How to get started
Check for basic structured data. Look for schema.org Product markup: price, availability, SKU. Most small sites don't have it.
Test whether an AI agent can actually shop the site. Use ChatGPT or Claude with browsing enabled, and see if it can find and describe one specific product correctly.
Fix the real gaps. Add or correct structured data. Make sure price and stock status are machine-readable, not just a styled image or a font trick.
Document the before and after. The same proof format used in other AI-audit services works here too.
Price it like a technical project. This is closer to a technical SEO audit than general content work, and it can be priced that way.
π° Ways To Make Money With This
Agent-readiness audit: $300β$800
Check a store's structured data and machine-readability, deliver a plain report. Buyer: small e-commerce businesses, especially those not on Shopify or BigCommerce.
Implementation project: $500β$2,000
Actually fix the structured data and machine-readability gaps the audit found. Buyer: audit clients ready to act.
Ongoing monitoring retainer: $150β$400/mo
Re-test as agents and standards keep evolving, this is a moving target, not a one-time fix. Buyer: implementation clients.
Platform migration consulting
Help a business move from a custom, unstructured site to a platform with agent-ready commerce built in, when a patch isn't enough.
The infrastructure race behind all of this, chips, power, memory, is the part investors are watching most closely right now, which is exactly the kind of thing our sponsor below tracks for a living.

Thinking of hiring globally? Start with an EOR.
The best person for your next role might not live near your office, or even in the same country.
More companies are realizing they don't need to open entities everywhere just to access global talent. Instead, they're using EOR to hire internationally quickly and compliantly.
Oyster's EOR helps global companies hire, pay, and support employees in 180+ countries. Could this work for you?
π Research Spotlight
What happened: Anthropic disclosed that Claude now leads 26% of its own model R&D work, measured in August, up from 0% in February. Over 90% of R&D at the company now happens with Claude as either a collaborator or the lead.
26% of R&D now Claude-led
90%+ of R&D involves Claude at all
30,000 Claude agents reportedly run concurrently
Why it matters: this is a self-reported figure from the company being measured, not an independent audit, so treat the precision with some caution. Still, a lab publishing a concrete number on how much of its own work AI now does is a new kind of transparency, and other labs will likely face pressure to publish their own version of it.

π¬ Latestly AI Take
Every Meta Connect gets covered as a hardware story, glasses, headsets, whatever's on stage. The more important story this year might be the quiet infrastructure question underneath it: can the agent on stage actually complete a transaction on a website nobody optimized for it? That's a boring question. It's also the one with a real, sellable answer attached.
