Welcome to the first Monday Brief.
Claude just got 50% more expensive, Broadcom reports earnings midweek, and an anonymous AI model has everyone guessing who built it.
Coffee ready? Here's what matters this week. โ
๐๏ธ The week ahead
MONDAY (today) Claude Sonnet 5's promotional pricing ends The rate goes from $2/$10 to $3/$15 per million tokens, a flat 50% increase on both input and output. Watch for: any tool or vendor you use that runs on Sonnet 5 quietly passing the increase along. |
TUESDAY The AI Enterprise Conference 2026 opens in New York Senior data and AI leaders gather to talk agentic AI, infrastructure, and ROI. Watch for: how honestly enterprise buyers talk about agent ROI, a claim that's been mostly talk so far this year. |
WEDNESDAY Broadcom reports fiscal Q3 earnings Consensus expects roughly $29.4B in revenue, after market close. Watch for: commentary on custom AI chip demand, a read on whether the infrastructure buildout is still accelerating. |
THIS WEEK Qwen3.8-27B's open weights are still unpublished Alibaba shipped the larger Qwen3.8-Max weights on August 8, but the smaller 27B model, promised the same week, still hasn't appeared. Watch for: whether Alibaba delivers, or lets the promise quietly lapse. |
The best voice models, now across all channels
Most CX platforms do not own the voice. They orchestrate a workflow, then call a third party for speech and transcription. Every hop adds latency, cost, and another vendor to manage.
ElevenAgents is the opposite. They make the voice models the market builds on, and ElevenAgents puts full orchestration on top. Voice, transcription, text-based chat, and reasoning run in one vertically integrated pipeline, so responses come back in <400 milliseconds and sound human, not synthetic.
Plus, you keep full control. Plug in any LLM, integrate tools, webhooks, and MCP servers, and ground responses in your knowledge base. Get an agent live in minutes, then A/B test with Experiments, enforce Guardrails, and version every change.
The payoff: more human conversations, lower latency, and far less time stitching infrastructure together. You build on the models you already trust. Pricing is transparent and flat at $0.08 per minute.
๐ฐ The big story
Meta shipped a model and the harness built to run it, on the same day.
What happened. On August 5, Meta released Muse Spark 1.2, a new model, alongside Muse Code, a multi-agent coding tool. Meta says the model was trained specifically to work with that harness.
Why it matters this week. A benchmark score produced inside the harness a model was trained for isn't directly comparable to a score from a different setup. That makes vendor comparisons harder to trust right when more teams are choosing a coding agent for the first time.
It also means the harness itself becomes a lock-in, not just the model underneath it. Switching models later may mean rebuilding your whole workflow, not just changing an API key.
Watch this: whether other major labs start bundling models with their own dedicated agent harness, following Meta's move, instead of releasing general-purpose models on their own.
Stop Paying for 6 Tools. One AI Does It All.
Most e-commerce sellers juggle 6โ8 tools and pay hundreds monthly to keep operations running. StoreClaw replaces the stack with one autonomous AI engine that monitors competitors, optimizes listings, automates marketing, and tracks profit 24/7. Connect your store and let AI handle the work โ no prompts, no complex setup, no credit card required.

๐งช Try this this week
Muse Code
Meta's new multi-agent coding tool, released in beta August 5. Every subagent action is logged and replayable.
Try it for: run one real coding task through it and compare the output against your current tool.
FLUX 3 Video
Black Forest Labs' video model reached general availability August 4, with clips up to 20 seconds and native audio.
Try it for: storyboard one short marketing clip and see if it's usable without heavy editing.
The anonymous stealth model
A free, 1-million-context reasoning model appeared on OpenRouter on August 20. Nobody has claimed it yet.
Try it for: a quick side-by-side against your usual model on one hard reasoning task.
๐ข One number
62%
fewer factual errors in ChatGPT's new free-tier default model, per OpenAI's own comparison against the model it replaces.
Why it matters: that's a vendor-reported figure, not an independent benchmark, but it signals OpenAI is selling accuracy, not speed, to the users who never pay.

๐ก On our radar
The anonymous "stealth" model on OpenRouter
Nobody has claimed authorship yet. If a lab steps forward this week, it turns a curiosity into a real signal about how labs stealth-test new models in public.
EU AI Act compliance calendars
Article 5 and Article 50 obligations are now technically live, but the stand-alone high-risk deadline moved to December 2027. Watch whether more companies publicly correct plans still built around the old date.
September budget resets
Sonnet 5's price increase lands right as many teams plan September spend. Watch whether "AI cost" becomes a bigger line item in this week's planning conversations than it was in August.
๐ฌ Latestly AI Take
The pattern worth noticing isn't any single release this week. "Announced" and "shipped" have quietly become two different categories, and most coverage still uses one word for both. The labs benefit from that blur. The professionals who separate the two, before building a plan around either, are the ones who won't get caught by a deadline that was never real.
