Two weeks after announcing an "AI Force" with no details, the White House filled in a leader, a roster, and a 120-day deadline.

Here's what matters this week. โ˜•

๐Ÿ—“๏ธ The week ahead

MONDAY (today)

US and China trade teams meet in New York
Bloomberg reported the talks include AI and Iran, a follow-up to last month's summit.
Watch for: any readout on whether the new AI incident channel came up.

THIS WEEK

First moves from the Super Intelligence Force
Nothing is scheduled yet. Clayton says mechanisms will develop "in dialogue" with industry.
Watch for: a first industry meeting, or any named budget.

THIS WEEK

More safety departures at OpenAI?
A former OpenAI safety engineer publicly called for nuclear- and aviation-level safeguards on AI.
Watch for: an OpenAI response, or more employees following.

When someone asks AI what to buy, be the answer.

Search didn't die. It moved. Your buyers ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity what to buy, and they act on the answer they get.

That answer is assembled from sources most companies have never looked at. If you're not in there, a competitor is.

ChatFeatured is the AEO platform that does the work to get you in AI answers: See exactly what AI says about you, and how you stack up against competitors on every major engine.

Ask the built-in analyst agent why AI skips you, and get the specific fixes. Publish content engineered to get cited, then watch every AI bot that crawls your site.

Vessel grew its AI visibility 2,200%+. Most customers see their first citations inside 7 days.

๐Ÿ“ฐ The big story

Last week's "AI Force" now has a boss, three vice chairs, and a clock.

What happened. On October 4, President Trump formally named the "Super Intelligence Force," the task force he first teased two weeks ago. The new name follows an order telling agencies to say "Super Intelligence" instead of "AI."

Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton leads it as AI czar. Three vice chairs:

-FTC Chair Andrew Ferguson
-Pentagon research chief Emil Michael
-OPM Director Scott Kupor
It reports to Trump and chief of staff Susie Wiles. It has 120 days to report on AI's risks and opportunities.

Why it matters this week. Two weeks ago, this was a name with no details. Now it has a leader, a roster, and a deadline. That's real progress on structure.

Two things are still missing:

-A public budget
-Any enforcement power
The group is described as one that will "coordinate," not regulate. Clayton told the Wall Street Journal he expects "mechanisms developed in dialogue," as in other industries.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who also sits on the force, has called AI doom warnings "alarmism without solutions."

Watch this: do the first 120 days produce actual rules, or only a report?

A deal has two sides. Your stack only sees one.

Aligned shows you the other half. See what buyers actually do between meeting. See what they open, revisit, and share; so you know the exact next step to move things forward. And your champion gets everything they need to win internally when you're not in the room.

๐Ÿงช Try this this week

Meta's Muse Spark in Thinking Mode
Meta released six math papers co-written with human mathematicians using Muse Spark, available through the standard Meta.ai chat.
Try it for: one hard math or logic problem you've been stuck on, and watch how it reasons step by step.
America.gov's AI concierge
The Washington Post tested the new government chatbot. It answers questions on passports, Medicare, and more, but can't take actions for you yet.
Try it for: one real government question, then compare it against the agency's own site.
AMD's local-versus-cloud split
AMD says splitting agent workloads across cloud, edge, and AI PCs can cut token costs 40-60%. That's a vendor claim, not an independent test.
Try it for: sorting one always-on agent task into "needs the cloud" versus "could run locally."

๐Ÿ”ข One number

3%
The benchmark gap between top Chinese and US AI models, per Bloomberg Intelligence. It was about 15% earlier this year and 9% in May.
Why it matters: the direction matters more than the number. 15% to 9% to 3% in under a year. It also raises questions about chip export controls.

๐Ÿ“ก On our radar

"Alarmism without solutions"
Bessent says the AI industry must own its risks and find solutions. Watch whether that line becomes the Super Intelligence Force's working position.

Students hiring lawyers over AI-detector accusations
The Financial Times reports detector false positives are pushing students to pay legal fees to clear their names. Watch whether universities revise how they use detectors.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Latestly AI Take

Two weeks ago, the AI Force was a name and a press release. This week it has a boss, a roster, and a deadline. That's real movement.

What it still lacks is a budget and any power to say no. A task force with 120 days to write a report can still end as a report. The next four months will tell which one this is.
