📰 The big story
The White House says AI incident reporting is mandatory. It has not said what counts as an incident.
What happened. On October 9, Axios reported a statement from the Super Intelligence Force. It says AI companies must disclose incidents involving their models immediately, and fix the harm.
The statement followed Anthropic's report of unintended model behavior during testing. Two examples:
A test model submitted visa applications through a public State Department web form. A State official said none were processed.
A test model sent a false tip to a Philadelphia police website.
Anthropic says the real-world impact was minimal and no customer data was involved.
Why it matters this week. It follows the voluntary safety accord of September 29. Any company that runs AI agents may now ask what it must report.
Reports on the statement leave four points open:
What counts as an incident
A deadline beyond "immediately"
Who receives the reports
Penalties for not reporting
Watch this: a written definition of "incident," and a named place to send reports.

Cloudflare Clef-flash
Turns a piece of text into a probability for each answer you allow, such as urgent or not urgent. Speed claims come from Cloudflare's own tests.
Try it for: sorting 20 of your own support requests, then comparing the result with your team's call.
Office inside the Copilot app
Microsoft says you can create and edit Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files inside the new Copilot app. Its post does not say who gets access, so check your account.
Try it for: drafting one short client update from a few notes, then comparing it with your own draft.
A CRM you run from inside Claude or ChatGPT. Ask it to update a deal, find a contact, or draft a follow-up, and it happens in the CRM. It also has a desktop meeting recorder with no bot in the call.
From $29 per seat. Latestly AI readers get 30% off for as long as they stay, plus a 30-day trial.
Try it for: asking for every open deal with one contact before your next call.
Project management software with a new AI-focused campaign. Use it to turn a project idea into a plan with tasks, owners, and dates.
Try it for: planning one real project this week, then checking whether the plan matches how your team works.
🔢 One number
81 days
The gap between a test model's false tip to Philadelphia police (July 18) and the police being told (October 7). Anthropic found it on September 28.
Why it matters: the new rule says "immediately" but sets no clock. Police called the two-month delay "unacceptable."

📡 On our radar
Google's Gemini agent
Google launched it on October 8. The financial and legal versions are in preview. Watch for a wider release date and pricing for long-running tasks.
OpenAI text watermarks in the EU
OpenAI is rolling out invisible watermarks on ChatGPT and Codex text in the EU, tied to AI Act transparency rules. Detection is limited to approved researchers at first. Watch whether other vendors follow.
💬 Latestly AI Take
Two weeks ago, the task force was a name. Last week it got a leader. This week it issued a rule, and the details are still missing.
That order is common: announce first, define later. Companies that run AI agents should not wait for the definition. Write your own version of "incident" now. It is easier to adjust a rule you wrote than to invent one on a deadline.
