π° This Week's Opportunity
Every website owner on Earth can now see, for the first time, whether Google's AI is actually showing their content. Almost nobody knows the report exists yet.
Google finished a global rollout on August 31. Every website worldwide can now see a new report inside Search Console. It shows impressions from AI Overviews, AI Mode, and AI-generated Discover features. The data breaks down by page, country, device, and date.
Google also added an opt-out toggle. Any site can now block itself from AI features entirely. AI Overviews reaches over 2.5 billion monthly users. AI Mode reaches more than 1 billion. Both numbers come from Google itself.
Why it matters now
For two years, businesses had zero real data on this. They had only speculation and manual testing. Now a real report sits inside Search Console. Most site owners will never open it on their own.
The report has a real gap too. It shows impressions. It does not show clicks, CTR, or which search queries triggered them. That gap is where someone gets paid to interpret the data, not just hand over a screenshot.
Who actually needs this
SEO consultants and agencies who can extend an existing service into this new report
Small business owners who've never opened Search Console's advanced reports
Ecommerce brands trying to understand shifting organic traffic patterns
Marketing consultants looking for a genuinely new, timely service line
Stop making AI decisions in the dark.
Leadership is asking: where is AI delivering value for us and where is it creating risk? Right now, most teams have no idea.
With Harmonic Securityβs Usage Explorer, you get a complete picture of how your organization actually uses AI, automatically categorized into custom use cases with complete tool-level granularity.
How to get started
Open a client's Search Console account. Find the new Search Generative AI performance report. Most people have never seen it.
Pull the impression data by page. Compare it to the business's most important pages. Are those pages showing up in AI Overviews at all?
Fill the gap the report leaves. It has no clicks or queries. Pair it with manual checks in ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity, using the business's real questions.
Build one repeatable audit format. Combine both data sources: real Search Console impressions, plus manual query testing.
Raise the opt-out question directly. Google now lets sites block AI features entirely. Some publishers may want that. Most have never been asked.
π° Ways To Make Money With This
AI visibility audit using real Search Console data
Pull and interpret the new report for a client, deliver a plain-language summary of what's showing up and what isn't. Buyer: any business with an existing Search Console account, which is nearly all of them.
Monthly AI visibility tracking retainer
The report updates over time. Track a client's AI impressions monthly and flag real changes. Buyer: audit clients who want ongoing monitoring.
Bundle it into existing SEO services
Agencies already doing SEO reporting add one new section covering AI Overview visibility, a natural upsell with no new tooling required.
Opt-out strategy consulting
Help a business deliberately decide whether to appear in AI Overviews at all. A conversation almost nobody is having yet, and a real one for some publishers.
Google spent two years being vague about this. It finished the rollout on a Monday with barely a press release. The report is incomplete on purpose.
Impressions without clicks show where you appear. They don't show if it's worth anything. Whoever fills that gap for a client first gets remembered as the person who found it.

What happened: McKinsey surveyed 1,719 business leaders. 32% skipped buying a software product. They built it in-house with agentic coding tools instead.
32% skipped a software purchase | 41% in tech, the highest sector | 37% report any EBIT impact, flat YoY |
Why it matters: the build-vs-buy shift is real. But the flat EBIT number is the catch. Skipping a purchase does not mean the replacement paid off. For SaaS founders: the easiest products to lose are the ones customers were already unsure about.

Search Console's new report will get treated as a feature update. It's really a data release, the first real numbers most businesses will ever see about their own AI visibility. Data releases open a short window before everyone learns to read them. That window is open right now.
